The sugar factory in Clauen has existed since the company`s founding period
The origins of the sugar factory in the Hildesheim Börde region stretch back to 1869. The factory in Clauen was established as an agricultural stock company.
This sugar factory produced raw sugar from sugar beet for many years. Following its conversion, it exclusively produces crystalline white sugar in bulk form for industrial customers today.
In recent years, we have invested extensively in modernizing the factory to make it more productive and efficient. Our aim was to improve customer satisfaction even further while also satisfying our high standards in environmental protection. Particularly noteworthy was the construction of a new sugar silo with a capacity of 80,000 tonnes to enable even greater flexibility in supplying our customers. We also installed a steam dryer for drying sugar beet pulp, which reduced our primary energy consumption by 25 per cent.
