Sugar industry at the Grüne Woche

From 17 to 26 January 2025, the world’s largest consumer fair for nutrition, agriculture and horticulture will once again open its doors in Berlin: the “Grüne Woche”. It is also an opportunity for numerous meetings between politics, the agricultural and food industry and their associations.

The trade fair offers the agricultural and food industry a suitable opportunity to present current challenges to political representatives, as well as concerns and arguments for the German federal election campaign and coalition negotiations.

The sugar industry will also be represented. At the information stand, the Economic Association of the Sugar Industry (WVZ) and the Association of the Sugar Industry (VdZ) will explain the industry’s positions on the federal election under the slogan ‘Sugar makes it better’. Topics such as sustainability and climate neutrality, beet cultivation and crop protection, as well as competition distortions and demands in nutrition policy, will be discussed. The associations’ trade fair stand also enables Nordzucker to underscore its relevance as a major partner in the agriculture and food industry and as a relevant economic factor in the rural areas around our factories.
