Nordzucker production sites in Clauen and Schladen to get new Head of Factories as of 1 March 2025

Change of position at the German Nordzucker factories: Andreas Affeldt, who has been managing the Nordzucker production site in Clauen since 2019, is moving to the company headquarters in Braunschweig, where he will work in the Operations division. Before retiring in 2026, Andreas Affeldt will support the sites with his expertise during the campaign. Andreas Affeldt, who has a degree in engineering, has been with the company for over 35 years. Before moving to Clauen to become Head of Factory, he managed the technological introduction of organic sugar production at the Schladen plant.
He will be succeeded at the Nordzucker factory in Clauen by Jörg Vietmeier. The process engineer, who holds a doctorate in engineering, has held various positions within the Nordzucker Group since 2005 and has been Head of Factory in Schladen since September 2016.
Ulrich Overwin will succeed him at the Schladen factory. The graduate engineer for control and automation technology has already gained extensive experience in the entire supply chain and production in the course of his professional career. Born in Braunschweig, he was most recently plant manager in the air filter technology industry.
“I am pleased that we were able to find a long-term and reliable solution with this arrangement, which has enabled Ulrich Overwin to undergo a comprehensive induction phase since late summer. With our experienced Head of Factory Jörg Vietmeier in the role in Clauen and Ulrich Overwin, who has a wealth of expertise in technology and site management, we are well prepared for the maintenance period and a stable campaign,” explains Sven Buhrmann, Head of Operations at Nordzucker.
