Nordzucker donates for power generators in Ukraine
The association Freie Ukraine Braunschweig e.V. has received another donation of 10,000 euros from Nordzucker. The money is urgently needed for power generators in medical facilities in Kharkiv and in Ternopil for the medical school. Nordzucker has already donated for medicines and medical supplies in spring 2022.
The fighting on the front lines and the bombardment of civilian infrastructure by the Russian army have largely destroyed energy and electricity supplies in Ukraine. The chairman of the association Freie Ukraine Braunschweig e.V. Igor Piroschik describes the situation: “Against the background of the war in Ukraine, there is an enormous need for power generation equipment and power storage. Many medical facilities are dependent on them and our association focuses on the procurement of such equipment. We are very pleased with Nordzucker’s repeated generous donation, which will enable us to work together to help people in Ukraine survive this winter.”
Dr Lars Gorissen, CEO, underlines: “It is difficult for us to imagine the scale of the consequences of the destruction in Ukraine. This makes it even more important for us to support to the best of our abilities. We would like to thank Igor Piroschik and his team at the Freie Ukraine association for their tireless work in getting the relief supplies we need and also transporting them to the right places.”
